CAMP MINNOW LAKE
OUR CAMP PROGRAMS
Green Futures stresses individual responsibility and the need to conserve and protect our earth’s resources. Activities include planting trees, nature walks, overnight camp-out adventures, survival hiking, organic gardening, and recycling of natural resources.
Volunteer artists and craft artisans instruct family in Native American arts, murals, mask production, rock painting and sand arts using recycled materials, watercolors, pencil drawings, acrylics, and mixed media.
Campers of all ages participate in this musical extravaganza that last night of camp. Theater professionals help campers with production and direction in acting, singing, dancing, costume design, set construction, lighting, and sound.
Journalism, computer science, videography and photography are all offered. Our camp newsletter, The Minnow Messenger, covers daily events written by camp reporters. Short movies are created, and Camp “WFUN” radio sends short-wave radio broadcasts from campers to families all over the world.
These Programs promote individual awareness and sensitivity in cultural diversity, family, communications, conflict resolution, problem-solving, teamwork, rewards, and recognition.
In a noncompetitive, teamwork atmosphere which excludes no one, our staff offers athletic clinics and activities to all campers. These activities include basketball, volleyball, soccer, softball, swimming, boating, aerobics, aikido, horseback riding, and line dancing.
